Aligoté

Aligoté is a white Burgundian variety and a sibling of Chardonnay: VIVC gives both the same parents, Pinot and Gouais Blanc. In Soviet times it was among the varieties zoned for Armenia’s north-east (the Tumanyan, Noyemberyan, Ijevan and Shamshadin districts) and for Goris and Kapan in Zangezur. Today it is rare: in our catalogue Maran of Vayots Dzor blends it with Voskehat and Areni in Malahi White.
