Varieties
43 varieties in the reference
Grouped by the variety's country of origin in its VIVC passport — where it arose, not how much it matters here. Within each group, by number of wines in the catalogue; varieties without wines come last.

The wine count is the same set of wines the catalogue shows for the variety; a blend counts towards each of its grapes.
How the reference works
Where the data comes from
Descriptions
Written per country, in our own words, from ampelographic sources and official registers. Where there is no text, we say so.
Photos
Openly licensed photographs (Wikimedia Commons and others) and photos from winery websites where the winery itself names the variety. We only use frames where the variety is confirmed by a caption; otherwise there is no photo. The source of each frame is in the list below.
Wine count
The same wines the catalogue shows for the variety: published wines from published wineries.
Berry colour and origin
Berry colour follows ampelographic sources; disputed varieties are left unmarked. Country of origin follows the variety's VIVC passport.
