Areni Wine Festival

The largest wine gathering in Armenia, held on the first Saturday of October in Areni, a village in Vayots Dzor that counts as the cradle of Armenian winemaking. On 3 October 2026 the festival runs from 11:00 to 20:00: it opens with the traditional grape stomping, then family cellars and wineries from across the country pour their wines while music and dance go on all day. Admission is free. New this year is a souvenir package for 7,000 AMD — a branded glass, a holder and a festival booklet that gives a glass of sangria, games and partner discounts; the booklet alone costs 2,000 AMD.
