Banants

Banants is a white grape of north-eastern Armenia that is also grown in the Ararat valley provinces of Ararat, Armavir and Aragatsotn; VIVC treats the name as a synonym of Bayan Shirei. It ripens late and bears large, fairly dense bunches of big, round, yellow-green berries with thick, heavily bloomed skin. Its juice is low in both sugar and acidity, and it is used for Armenian brandy as well as sparkling and still wines.
