Lalvari

Lalvari is a white grape of north-eastern Armenia, grown chiefly in the Noyemberyan district of Tavush and named after Mount Lalvar. Its large, oval berries stay greenish in the shade and turn pale amber in the sun. It ripens mid-season with low sugar and high acidity, which suits it to sparkling and light table wines as well as brandy. VIVC gives Armenia and Georgia as its area of origin.
