Saperavi
Saperavi is Georgia’s leading red variety, from Kakheti; both the skin and the flesh of the berry are coloured, so its wine is very dark. In Armenia it matters above all as a parent: VIVC records it as one parent of Haghtanak, bred in Armenia in 1977, and the rare Nrneni revived by MOONQ is described as a cross of Saperavi and Semenac. In our catalogue it is bottled in Armenia Wine’s Takar Red Reserve, blended with Areni from Vayots Dzor and Armavir fruit.
