Voskehat

Voskehat is regarded as Armenia’s finest indigenous white grape. It ripens late and is grown mainly around Ashtarak, Vagharshapat (Ejmiatsin) and Armavir and in Vayots Dzor; its berries are yellowish-white to amber with small brown spots. Some of the carbonised seeds found at the Urartian fortress of Teishebaini (Karmir Blur) have been attributed to it. It is made into dry still whites and also into sparkling wine.
