ANAU Voskehat

Estate winery

The Voskehat Educational and Research Center of Enology of the Armenian National Agrarian University, in the Armavir village of Voskehat, is a university winery rather than a commercial estate. It stands on the site of the wine research institute opened in the 1950s, which sat idle for nearly two decades until the building was rebuilt and re-equipped under a World Bank project and reopened in December 2018. The centre farms roughly 35 hectares of vineyards yielding 200-250 tonnes a year. Students of fermentation technology and winemaking do their practical training there, while research covers variety trials and winemaking methods.
