Ijevan

Large producer, own vineyards

One of Armenia's oldest wineries, founded in 1951 in Ijevan, Tavush province, in the valley of the Aghstev and Spitak Jur rivers. In 2005 the plant was bought by businessman E. L. Yeghiazaryan, after which it was modernised and the range widened to some thirty products. Its own vineyards cover more than 300 hectares in the Ararat Valley, while grapes for processing come mainly from Tavush. Besides wine it makes brandy, sparkling wine, fruit vodkas, juices and preserves.
