Aparteny

Small family winery

A small family winery in the Armavir village of Bambakashat, named after the founders' grandfather Aparteny Mnatsakan. The vineyard was planted in 2004 and covers about 3 hectares, propagated from an experimental plot the viticulture institute laid out in the same village in the 1960s. Its main grape is the rare Karmrashat, bred there by crossing Nerkeni with Muscat Rouge de Madère, complemented by Muscat. The estate says it remains the only producer of wine from this variety, working with both clay karas and concrete.
