Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is a red variety from France and, according to DNA data in VIVC, a parent of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Armenia it is worked mainly by Armenia Wine: with Merlot in Bione Red and the organic Gavat from Aragatsotn, with Areni in Takar Cabernet Franc, and with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat in the organic Takar Red. Yacoubian-Hobbs also grows it in its vineyard at Aghavnadzor in Vayots Dzor.
