Aragatsotn

A region on the slopes of Aragats at 1,100–1,400 m, on semi-desert, brown and light brown soils, with about 209 mm of rain during the growing season. The foundation counted roughly 1,253 ha of vineyards in 2017. Kangun, Karmrahyut, Areni and Voskehat lead the plantings, and a good share of the country's newer wineries sit here — at Sasunik, Nor Yedesia, Ashtarak and Voskevaz.
