Garan Dmak

Garan Dmak (“lamb’s tail”) is an old indigenous white grape grown mainly in Armavir and elsewhere on the Ararat plain. It ripens late, with yellow-green, sometimes golden berries, and according to the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia it performs best on stony, clay and semi-desert soils. It is one of the varieties permitted for Armenian brandy and is also made into dry white wine.
