Karmrahyut
Karmrahyut, “red juice” in Armenian, is a red-fleshed grape bred in Armenia: VIVC records it as S. A. Pogosyan’s 1950 cross of Hadisi and Petit Bouschet. The Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia lists it among the leading red varieties of Ararat and Aragatsotn. It is used mostly in blends with Areni, Kakhet and Haghtanak to add colour and body, and also for varietal wines.
